Hi Mom!

Oh, Hi Derek! How are you doing today?

Not so well... Erica and I ran six miles yesterday and I am sooooo tired.

Mom never had a blog conversation with her son up in Alaska. She leaves me here all alone with my moosen.

I never had a blog when I was Derek and Steves age!

ROOOOOAAAARRRR!!!!

C'mon guys, I'm trying to talk to mom.

Oh Derek, six miles isn't too far. I got onto google and looked up some quick facts. I posted them below.
Six miles is the distance between the Oregon State Capitol and Creekside Golf Course

Six miles is the distance between the Oregon State Capitol and Keizer station.

Six miles is the distance between Sprague High School and Corban College

Six miles is the distance between the Haws home and Minto Brown Island Park

Six miles is the distance between the Haws home and West Salem

Six miles is the distance between our home at Enchanted Forest

Six miles is the distance between our home and Lancaster mall

I don't know mom, when you name those facts it doesn't seem too bad, but it seems so much farther when we're out there running. Erica and I did it though, becuase we're number 1!

Whoooo... Yea!

Yeeeaaahh Babeh! Whooo!

I'm gonna go sew now....

ooh...ok. I love you mom.

What do you get when you mix...

...twilight, Europe, and my family?...

...You get me being home all alone for an extended weekend. :-/

I'm the youngest of six kids and am not used to being alone. I'm trying to stay out of trouble though and keep myself busy. I've been doing alot of random stuff. I've been adding more things to my "100 things to do before I die" list. I've been working alot. I've applied for scholarships. I've been working on various projects. I've even gone as far as reading and cleaning the house.

Today though, I was also looking at pictures and movies from my mission. I'm going to share two of them with you.

There was a missionary who had been out two months longer than me. Amazing guy, even more amazing dancer. One day he wanted to show off his break dancing skills. So we popped in the Insideout Accapella group cd and then he went to work. Here are two of his videos.

I'm training to

run a half marathon. It is called "Run To Stay Warm"

The proceeds go to help families pay for their electric bills this winter if they are unable to otherwise. It is November 21st. Training starts bright and early tomorrow morning with my running partner, Erica. :-). Her family is going to do it as well. They are going to walk while Erica and I run. As soon as my parents get back from Europe I'm going to try and convince them to do it as well.

I need a good pair of running shoes too. I don't have a pair yet, I've been wearing old tennis shoes. Maybe I can convince dad that he needs to buy me a pair. He did leave me for three weeks to fend for myself and scavenge around for food. Maybe he will help me out a little bit. I think i'll ask dad for these...and he'll say, "no"
Then I'll tell dad how sad I am and tell him I'll settle for these...

This way I'll get what I really want and dad will feel like he saved a bunch of money. It's a win win situation.

If you want to do the half marathon as well, let me know.
